Bald places on my head…alopecia areata?

Concern by animalLover4326: Bald places on my head…alopecia areata?
I noticed a bald spot on my head about a calendar year ago. I am twenty five a long time old, and have no preceding historical past of a situation like this. It was correct at the prime of my head, the measurement of a nickel, but grew to be about an inch and a half across. It was Enormous. I went to my regular physician and he did bloodwork and my thyroid, chem display, cbc, and sed costs are all standard. three-4 months later the hair started out to develop back. So i imagined YAY! Now, I have about eight of them all more than my scalp, all about the dimension of a nickel. I have an appointment at a skin doctor June tenth, and I am presently assuming it is alopecia areata simply because my grandmother has alopecia universalis. Any individual have any knowledge with this? I hear the therapy is steroid injections in the scalp, does this work? It is stressing me out, and I am frightened that I will finish up getting rid of all my hair!!

“and my thyroid………..are all typical.”? Are you confident?

You want screening for ANTIBODIES as well as TSH. TSH ‘norm’ must be .3 – three (w/ most feeling very best at < 2) but would not matter if antibodies are present. Indicative of Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis…main cause of HypOthyroid & is worse (...OR Graves Disease - HypERthyroid). WARNING: Doctors seem not to want to find thyroid disease. You may have to go to more than one doctor before you get the right tests, interpretation, and treatment. Best wishes.
