I’m 17, and my mum and her sister both have alopecia universalis so I’m really freaking out! I’ve heard it’s generic. What are the odds that I might get it?

It is the most severe form of alopecia areata, with an incidence of .001% (1 in 100,000). But for someone with alopecia universalis in the family, it is likely to have a higher chance of getting it.
But not everyone gets it even if they have it in the family, so don’t worry about it. It is is currently believed to be an autoimmune disorder so perhaps you should take a trip to the doctor to see how your autoimmune system is. That could give you some sign.
