A product I can stick with!,
After using minoxidil for women, I disliked the greasy feel. With fine, thin hair, that’s the last thing I need. This product is pleasant to use, has a fresh smell, and is NOT GREASY! I can use it, style my hair, and go to work. I could only use minoxidil at bed time, and had to wash it out the next morning. No way could I use it twice a day. Also, another plus for Amenexil is the lack of warnings of possible chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness, weight gain, swollon hands or feet, etc. that came with minoxidil. I want hair, not heart problems. I’m ordering my second box now, after noticing a zillion little hairs along my hairline. I never noticed them before. I’m going to use another box! Oh, and you only have to use it once a day, or at least three times a week. Last but not least, it works on the whole scalp, not just male pattern baldness(on top). Good stuff!

underwhelmed,
AS I enter my mid 40’s, the androgenetic alopecea kicks in. It’s really quite devastating to be a youthful, fit, attractive women, with hair you can clearly see scalp through. You’re forced to confront your identity; and let me say, it turns out I’m shallow, vain and defined by my looks alot more than I thought I was- when I had all my hair.
But back to the Vichy with aminexil. It does not prevent hair loss the same way minoxidil does. The Vichy product claims to prevent the buildup of collagen associated with some types of hair loss. It DOES NOT BLOCK DHT, nor can it effect the growth phase and life span of hair, as minoxidil can.
The product is in one-dose hygienic vials. The Vichy feels much more cosmetically elegant than any minoxidil solution out there, and is fragranced in a heady, pleasant, slightly masculine way. It was too heavy/greasy in my hair for day time. I really can’t say I noticed any effects in terms of hair growth or retention while using this very expensive stuff. It does not address the direct causes of hair loss. While it may be supportive to the health and maintenance of hair follicles, it is NOT a first line defense, and I am forced to focus my meager resources on well proven technologies like minoxidil, spironolactone, azaleic acid, ketoconizol, etc.
I do however, use and recommend the Vichy Dercos shampoo, also with aminexil. The shampoo is lightly scented(soapy fresh- not matching the treatment) and leaves hair feeling clean, but not stripped, and very manageable.
